get the French outcast at Man U in to partner Obiang. not sure I'd spend much else until next summer. try and get Ayew & Feghoulo settled and lift Nordveit's confidence

Alot of people saying we need another centre midfielder but I dont want to see Obiang pushed out the team and there is no way Noble will be dropped.

Keep dreaming- I'd love it if you were right and the story of the season thus far probably agrees with that statement, if only due to injuries to Ayew and Sakho (off-field issues also)
I think Ayew will prove to be a decent first team player once fully fit (Perhaps not a £20m striker but he has got some quality about him) and we all know and have missed a fit Sakho, whether he'll ever be physically and mentally fit again is another question but he'd be a miss for us if he was.
Reliance on a very fragile AC and a not fully tested but promising Fletcher could see us in a lot of trouble. Especially when you factor in that Carroll will play less than 50% of our matches. Antonio has shown he can do a job when needed but I'd rather he was played in his right wing position where he can run at defences and come in from the flank too.

Adavies, so the only noteworthy loss is Kouyate? I think we'll manage.

May have already been stated but probably also worth remembering that we're going to lose Ayew, Kouyate, Sakho (if fit) and Feghouli for a period in January for the AFCoN.
With Sakho and Ayew away, that leaves the fragile and likely to be injured AC and Fletcher as our strikers, assuming Zaza and Calleri are returned.
Antonio could be in line for more time as an out ball up top, especially away.
Not expecting anything other than foreign loan gambles or a has been.

goose 1:18 I'll agree to differ goose. Ogbonna mostly distributes decent passes when he gets time on the ball. I know he made a disastrous pass against Man Utd but normally he's pretty decent coming out of defence with the ball.
I'm more bothered by his ball watching and ducking out of the way of free kicks against us....

How many times did Ogbonna venture into the opposition half at the weekend? Discounting set pieces of course.

It's a re run of the summer really as they all failed

nah sorry you are wrong. the oppo let Ogbonna have the ball because they know how poor he is with the ball at his feet. Reid has a much better range of passing.

Re: The January transfer window thread

Funny how a couple of bad games and our goalkeepers become our bigger problem. Even the top sides struggle to find top top keepers, look at United, Arsenal, Liverpool etc over the years.
The two keepers we have are more than good enough for the level we are currently playing at, although if Hart was available at a reasonable price/wage I'd be delighted if we went in for him (that being said - he is also prone to the odd error too).
I want us to see this window be a spell of shedding deadwood, starting with Arbeloa, Tore, Zaza and any other player that hasn't been deemed to show enough desire or quality in Bilic's eyes yet this season.
As for players in, nobody jumps out for me. Just hoping as stated by others we don't rush into frees and loans. January tends to be a time where prices rise and silly wages get thrown around (see our Icelandic winter). I'd rather nobody and go again in the summer, than more rubbish on silly ££.

Reply goose 3:18 Mon Dec 12 " Ogbonna looks class going forward " you what??
Going forward or coming out of defence Ogbonna does look good. It's close defending in the box that he has trouble with...
